Below are the structural and appearance options that you can choose in our 3D Builder to dial in your shed design. From windows with shutters, door options, flooring upgrades to stud and truss spacing, we’ve got it all. You can add built-in workbenches and shelves, a radiant heat barrier to help regulate inside temperatures, or a vapor barrier to further protect valuables against the elements.
LP Smart Panel is treated with LP’s proprietary SmartGuard® process. With four components of protection, the process adds strength, is weather resistant, and helps the siding withstand impacts, freeze/thaw cycles, high humidity, fungal decay and termites.
T1–11 is tried and true, premium grade pressure-treated real plywood exterior siding that is protected against rotting, fungal decay and termites.
Our vertical metal roofing (also available as siding in some areas and on some buildings) is made from high – grade 29 – gauge steel and includes a 30 – year limited warranty against rust – through. It provides a premium architectural appearance, is 100% recyclable and reflects solar heat better than other options.
If a metal roof isn’t your preference or you need to match your home’s roof for looks or for HOA compliance, use our residential grade architectural shingles, available in commonly used colors.
Engineered Tongue & Groove is a premium flooring product specifically designed and warranted for outdoor storage sheds, barns, and backyard structures. It features an overlay for a smooth, professional-grade finish, and is infused with a resin that resists termites and fungal decay.
5/8-inch or 3/4-inch square edge pressure-treated plywood provides excellent moisture resistance and load-bearing capacity for storage buildings.
Consider upgrading your flooring system framing if you plan to store heavier items like lawn tractors, riding mowers, or other items that require increased load-bearing.
For painted buildings using LP Smart Siding, this option adds closer roof truss spacing for enhanced roof framing support. 16′ wall studs are already standard on painted buildings with LP Smart Siding. 16′ spacing can be a helpful upgrade for customers planning to use their building for heavier-duty storage, workshop space, or future interior customization that includes the installation of fiberglass insulation.
This option provides closer wall stud AND roof truss spacing on buildings with T1-11 treated siding, creating a more consistent framing layout throughout the building. It is especially useful for customers who want added structural support or plan to add interior materials such as insulation or wall coverings after purchase.

Using your shed as a home office, you’ll want a lockable walk-in door. The Ramp Door transforms your storage building into a true drive-in workspace. Designed for maximum access, its extra-wide, low-profile opening makes it easy to load and unload riding lawn mowers, ATVs, motorcycles, golf carts, wheelbarrows, and other large equipment with confidence. Built with heavy-duty materials and spring-loaded lift assistance, the Rampage Door combines durability with everyday convenience. The low-threshold entry helps reduce lifting and awkward maneuvering, while the wide opening provides the clearance needed for oversized equipment and bulky items. Note that a Ramp Door MUST open and lay flat on level ground for proper operation and to prevent damage to the door, hinges or attachment points.
Adding overhead loft is an ideal solution for significantly expanding available storage space, especially for seasonal decorations and other less frequently accessed items. Up to 8ft of lofted is included FREE with the Lofted Barn style building. Additional loft (or lofted added to Utility Sheds or other building types) can be added in 1ft increments.
Interior shelves can add much needed storage space for better organization solutions in your building or shed. Shelves are built with three tiers and can be placed on any wall in the building and length can be customized in 1ft increments.
Keep your shed organized by adding a workbench. Workbenches include a single shelf below the work-surface, can be placed on any wall, and can be customized in 1ft increments.
For a small upcharge, keep your tools organized, visible, and within easy reach with pegboard installed above your workbench. This practical add-on converts wall space into a flexible storage solution for hanging hand tools, extension cords, gardening supplies and other frequently used items… keeping work surfaces clutter free.
Upgrade your shed porch or chicken coop flooring with composite deck boards. Get the appearance of wood in a product that lasts the test of time without the ongoing maintenance. Engineered to resist rot, warping, splintering, and insect damage, composite decking provides a durable, attractive surface built to withstand the elements year after year.
Porch posts and railings add a more finished, decorative look to your shed while making porch-style buildings feel more inviting. Add more length of railing and extra posts to change the look of your building. Also, choose sunburst spindles to add an extra burst of style. These add-ons are a great choice for customers who want their building to feel less like basic storage and more like a feature on their property.
Upgrade to a 7/12 roof pitch that gives select Utility Sheds a steeper, more defined roof profile for added curb appeal. This option is available only on 8′, 10′, or 12′ wide Utility Sheds with 6′ or 7′ walls.
A 6” front and back roof overhang adds a cleaner roofline and helps give the building a more polished exterior appearance. This small detail can make the shed look more complete while adding extra visual depth to the front and back gable ends.
Add style to your storage shed or backyard building with wainscot. Installed along the lower portion of your building, wainscot creates a distinctive two-tone appearance. Available in complementary color combinations, wainscot adds curb appeal and gives your storage building a custom, finished look that stands out.
A House Wrap Vapor Barrier helps shield your shed from the elements. Depending on the climate, they can be critical for the longevity of your outdoor building, especially if you are looking to insulate the structure. A vapor barrier is a layer of insulation that provides moisture control.
A Tar Paper barrier helps shield your shed from the elements, especially when you’ve chosen a shingle roof. It captures moisture underneath asphalt roof shingles and is a critical first layer for sheds using shingle roofs.
Our radiant barriers possess impressive energy efficiency, reducing building temperatures by up to 30% by reflecting the sun’s heat. Tech Shield Radiant Heat Barriers are moisture resistant and energy efficient, but also help to meet local energy codes for outdoor buildings with either shingle or metal roofing. A Silver Tech Radiant Barrier reduces heat transfer and locks in cool air, keeping your storage items free of heat damage.

Bubble wrap insulation consists of layers of reflective foil and polyethylene air pockets. It reflects up to 96% of radiant heat, helping stabilize temperatures in your storage shed, especially in warm-weather climates or seasons.
